answers 0:ok my dog was due yesterday. Here is what is going on....She hasn't eaten, her belly is very lumpy, her temp was at 98.2, she has tried to go poo about 3 times in the past two hours but only drips come out. When I let her in the last time she sat down really fast and a bunch of liquid came out...my husband thought she may have peed but she started to clean it up and dogs don't clean up their pee. do you think her water broke? If so, does that mean she has been in prelabor??...Show moreanswers 1:You asked this question last week and were given a reference. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AtQzn...I hope the pregnant dog is not the same puppy as in this 10 month old question http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AuXai...answers 2:Call your Vet.She may have a pup stuck in the birth canal.answers 3:Quick, call your breed mentor and ask! This is the time ! when having a breed mentor comes in handy. If they do not answer the phone, then call your repro vet and ask. Good think you know exactly how many puppies you are expecting from having an ultrasound and x-rays done. It takes so much of the worry out of whelping. It sounds like you have planned everything out well ahead of time, and not like some backyard breeder leaving everything to chance....answers 4:Your mentor should have taught you all you need to know, plus you should have researched over the last 2 months what to expect.answers 5:Honestly, if you don't know the signs of labor, you should not be breeding, at all.answers 6:Oh good lord, don't you think you should have read up on this before you irresponsibly let her breed?answers 7:Yes she is in labor. She needs a whelping area, watch her closely if you let her go outside she may try to hide and have the pups somewhere.IF SHE HAD CLEAR DISCHARGE A WEEK AGO AND NO PUPS YET YOU NEED TO TAKE HER TO THE VET. YAHOO ANSWERS ! CAN NOT SAVE YOUR DOG OR THE PUPS. THEY MAY HAVE DIED INSIDE O! F HER TAKE HER TO THE VET....answers 8: http://www.petbitsforyou.com/labour.html thers a good site i used on my first litter....answers 9:Call a Vet and then STOP breeding.....answers 10:She is probably in labor, but it is hard to tell without seeing her. My suggestion is to call the vet. Sometime the mommy can have a hard time giving birth and if the babies get stuck it could be fatal for both mom and babies. Dogs go through birth pretty much the same way as humans. Good Luck and when it doubt it is always good to call the vet.answers 11:I have been reading up on it. It is just reassuring to get other peoples advice. If you don't have anything good to say then just keep it to your self good Lord!!answers 12:Absolutly and I hope that by the time you even see these answers you see some puppies come out because it is almost instantly after the water breaks that she should start pushing the puppies out and make sure I cant express it enough to count 1 placenta per puppy or els! e your dog can die from this also let her clean the pups herself and if she doesnt then be prepared to break the sack so the puppy does not suffercate also most moms will chew offhte umbilical cord again if she doesnt instantly do this then you will need dental floss to tie around the cord about an inch from pup then again a lil above that not then saw through the umbilical corde with the scissors if you cut the cord it will tend to bleed more and I doubt you have the powder to stop bleeding....Now if she hasnt had the pups RUSH her to an emergency vet and have them perform a c-section. seriously this is pretty bad both mom and pups can all die from this as well. I wish you the best of luck my dog just had pups and thank God all went smoothly but I was prepared for anything. separate the pups as they are born until she is done having them then let her nurse them....answers 13:Ive never had a litter and dont intend to. BUT she is not having a poo if nothing is coming out SHE! S PUSHING!!! If i no that and dont breed theres something wrong. The pu! shing like having a poo is the start of contractions, get her in a whelping area or your gonna have pups outside!!!!!!!!I do hope the mum and pups are going to be okanswers 14:When she's ready she will "nest", she will move things around like making a bed for herself, she need to be in a welping pen like one of those plastic pools they sell at walmart, and put in with her some news paper or some towels, she will nest on her own, let her do her thing. I do agree you should have read up on this a bit more, with out the proper environment she could get more stressed and have a harder time of it.....
