answers 0:How will my cat act leading up to labor, and what are the signs of labor?answers 1:Your cat will start meowing, load. She'll lay down, hardly will moveShe will have bigger pupilsShe stomach will be moving in and out faster than usualShe will be breathing heavilyShe will also follow you...answers 2:My cats, almost consistently, don't eat for about 24 hours before delivering. That's the only "sign" I've noticed, though there are (maybe) a few exceptions to that rule. So, if your cat doesn't come running when you feed her (if she usually does that), check on her.answers 3:I will use my cat as an example when she was in labor. the whole day she was laying on the couch and acting different like she didn't want us around but we didn't think much of it because for a couple days she was acting strange. I don't know if this is for all cats! but her labor started really fast. one second she was sleeping and another she was screaming as loud as she could. we had made her a nest and by time we brought her there she was in the middle of having her first kitten. your cats labor will probably happen really fast to. Also, another sign that we will be in labor soon is that the day of the birth, she breasts will be swollen and hard. I noticed the day she had them that her boobs were really big and pink. this means that the body is getting ready to start feeding the kittens. The cat will usually not need any help with the birth and she will be fine on her own, but we helped her to make it easer on her. We took some floss, a sisser, peroxide and rubber gloves. the first thing we did was to clean the sissers with peroxide because it could make the kittens really sick if you don't, and also be sure that you wear the gloves and don't handle them for to long because they need to be with their mother. When they were born, ! you can gently help them get out of there sack and that cut th! e cord about 2 centimetres away from their tummy and if it starts bleeding, tie the dental floss hard on the tip. if it doesn't bleed, you don't have to tie. as soon as your done, dry them off with a towel and immediately let them drink by there mother. After that there is realy nothing else you can do for them. Opps I almost forgot... if you notice that the kitten isn't moving after its born than you can hold it upside and gently stroke on its chest to start getting the air into its tiny lungs. usually when a kitten is born, the lungs are filled with water....
