Wilfred Santacruce: she can get on the internet with the desktop wired, but she wants to connect to it wireless. i havent tried the laptop wired yet, but she wants both to be wireless. and sorry my mistake she doesnt have a router its a wireless modem, but does have the hook ups to be wired.
Phillip Modafferi: Is it configured correctly with her internet provider? Are you sure her router is connected to the internet either by an ethernet cable or phone line? How does she get on the internet without the router? Can she connect one computer to the net directly?
Gerardo Greist: living house windows Vista has a firewall that filters both inbound and outbound site visitors. attempt turning off the firewall in Vista. If that works, then take a seem at your firewall rules and turn it decrease back on with a view to allow your connection sharing.
Marcelina Schossow: May be this is router problem.......if u have to possible then check the line by the enother ro! uter.before this session you set the proper IP....thnx.
Dalia Causby: The easiest possible solution for this is to:---unplug both the power cord of the modem and the router---wait for about 10 to 15 seconds---replug them and wait until the internet light on the modem become stable---reconnect your computers to the network and see if it fixed the problem. And yes, IP conflict might be a problem, but the chances are very small. Oftentimes it only happens because you were messing with the settings, which I don't think you did....Show more
Danette Slotnick: You might be experiencing an ip address conflict.Try to boot and connect them one at the time.Good luck!
Tatiana Evanosky: Ok, here is how to tell if the problem is with the computers or the router itself. Once you are connected to the router go to Start/Run then type CMD and press enter. Once the Command prompt opens up type IPCONFIG in the black box then press enter. Look at what your gatway IP address is! . It should be in the ballpark of 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1, ! if it something wild like 169.123.xxx.xxx then your not even connecting to the router. Anyway, If you are getting a 192.168.xxx.xxx then just type "ping 192.168.x.1" (without the " and x digit on your gateway) Now you should get an echo response between 3 and 10ms. If you get 'unreachable' then your router may need to be reset by pressing the reset button on the back (you usually have to press it with a pin or the tip of a pencil, then try again). Also go into your Network Adapter properties and set everything to default. Reset your modem and router. That should take care of it. If not then you can email me and I will give you more ideas....Show more
