Barrett Alosa: When Warren reaches 35lbs I am turning him around. That's as heavy as he can be. Lol. We read the directions on the seat.
Trena Berum: Here is a video. My seat can hold him to those weights. Look of Britax Boulevard This is why he is still rearfacing:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2DVfqFhseo
Joni Ziak: To answer your question my three year old is forward facing he weighs 35 pounds. My one year old is rear facing still. Why are you asking a question then telling people they are insane? Hmmm... I have seen those videos before though and they are crazy.
Elmo Tervo: My son is 15 months weighs 22 pounds and is forward facing. My other son is 1 month old and rear facing of course. Both have Graco convertible car seats ( good for weight 5 to 35 lbs)By the way the the new rule has been that children should face the rear until they are AT LEAST 1 year old AND 20 lbs or MORE! So for those who let their children under a year ride forward facing just! because they are over 20 lbs it's not safe and all newer car seat say so in the instructions. The reason they should be 1 and over 20 lbs is because a child under 1 still has poor neck control and they are not able to absorb the shock of an impact if thrusted forward in an accident an infant could brake their neck. So even if your child is over 20 lbs it's not safe to turn them forward until the are BOTH 20+ pounds and 1 year old.A booster seat at 2.5 years old is dangerous BIG TIME!...Show more
Stan Conley: Here is the video about Kyle David Miller with sound: http://vimeo.com/2994502
Nancy Mansell: My nephew is 4 and has been forward facing for about a 2 and a half years.
Joni Ziak: my son's 3 months :) and duh he's rear facing.there's a certain weight when you should turn their seats...look it up ;)
Oren Eskelsen: HERE'S ANOTHER VIDEO:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8gU9zzCGA8
Hermina Ketring: Why is it dangerous? Please clarify, because la! st time I checked his head was below the back of the seat, mor! e than 2..5 inches and he is below the weight limit. So really please tell me how it is dangerous!
Armando Somes: 4 years old and still rear facing??? WHY????My daughter turned 4 November 3rd and I just took her out of her 5 point harness and moved her into a high back booster. Doesn't your Doctor give you the restrictions for car seats??? they should, you can look them up on line too.this is why you have the latch on the top of the car seat.... to keep the top from moving foward.Do you plan on getting into an accident? I've been driving for 23 years and have a clean driving record, no accidents so far. I also have a Chevey Suburban, if i do get into an accident, it wont be my vehicle getting squashed. If we were ever in that BAD of accident I don't think i'd want to survive let alone have my kids survive and be a vegetable. If you already know wjhat you want to do what the hell did you come on here and ask such a strupid question for??????Just don't run into me o! n the road or my big suv will squash you!...Show more
Olin Hallin: FWIW you do NOT turn a baby front-facing between 6-8 months, to the poster who suggested this. THAT is dangerous. Some countries recommend leaving your child rear-facing for as long as three to four years. According to car-safety.org, leaving them rear-facing this long is NOT a safety hazard. "Rear-facing carseats are NOT a safety risk just because a baby's legs are bent at the knees or because they can touch/kick the vehicle seat." So it sounds like while the OP is being cautious, there is nothing wrong with it and her child is positioned more safely than everyone thinks....Show more
Buddy Ardd: THANK YOU!!! And here is another video saying "they should be rear facing FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE!!"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRP7ynNI8mI
Charlotte Bryar: 4 years and still rear facing? That is dangerous!! ~Rear facing car seats are for babies if your son is over 20 pounds it is recommend to! turn them forward if there is an impact you will break his legs!!~My ne! xt question is why even ask this seeing as you think you already have the answer! You do what you feel is best because you are the mom, but you can and will break his legs if God forbid there is an accident.Once again I state if you know this already WHY ASK!!??!!...Show more
Elmo Tervo: Booster seat at 2 1/2 years old!! That's insane! Watch this video please!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azgBhZfcqaQ
Sheldon Lally: Rear facing for a 4yo?? You should have your child facing the front when they are able to sit up by themselves, in my case this was anywhere between 6-8mths. Well Housemom, that's your opinion, in Australia you are allowed to turn your children forward facing as soon as they are able to sit up on their own accord and support their own neck, the child seat also reclines back a little in forward facing position, which is what we done for a few mths until we felt safe enough to sit them completely upright, like I said this was my case with my children, ! if your child wasn't able to do that at that age, not my problem....Show more
Arleen Bussing: Wow, poor kid. We put my son forward-facing at 15 months. If you believe you're doing the right thing, keep it up. You obviously have some insecurities regarding this, or you wouldn't be getting so offended and insulting people who think otherwise. I just think it's pretty strange at 4 years old. I've never ever ever heard of that....Show more
Catheryn Small: why is he still facing rear? all my kids moved to facing front at about 10 mos, they were all over 20 lbs then and just way too big to their car seats, now 18 mos and 3 years they are in 5 point harness seat and my 5 year old is in a booster with a seat beltedit, ok, thats the top limit, I would turn him around for several reasons. 1 he would enjoy his rides more if he was able to see and look around more, 2 its easier to put them in the car, 3 they recommend rear facing because the infants neck is not strong e! nough to hold its head up in an accident. his neck will be able to do t! hat. I guess it wont do any harm keping him that way but I have never heard a 4 year old still riding backwards......Show more
Coleman Petropoulos: Anyone that would argue the facts, currently discovered research, and the evidence supporting them...and try to say that forward facing is safer...is an ABSOLUTE MORON!!! Anyone that kept up to date with info would know about all of the studies done on this last year, that stated exactly what you are stating. Shows how many parents should be sterile because of utter lack of care, or desire to keep their kids as safe as possible. Thumbs down all you want people. Facts are facts. And the FACT is, that this person is 100% right in saying what she is. Why would these scientists waste all that money to research something for no reason. How many kids have to be put in the ground before people can accept being "wrong"....Show more
Shon Almquist: She's 19 months and forward facing. To each her own...I have the Britax roundab! out, love their car seats :)
Joellen Zorrilla: Your son is still facing rear at 4 years old!! that is insane! my son was facing forward in a Britax at a year and he is now 2 1/2 and he is 36 lbs and he is already upgraded to a booster seat!
Jasper Mangel: Now tell me again, what did I ask? I recall asking how old your child was and if they were still RF. So really I think I did no wrong. I actually think I helped some people here. What did you do, give some false info?
Branden Roddick: Why would you not rearface??? Please watch this video^^^. It is far safer rearfacing. And they SHOULD NOT be turned around when they can sit up. The seat has the weight and height restrictions!! I READ THEM!!
