How to repair dent with crack on car?

Nedra Oltz: jim has good advice but left out the fact that the dent will need to be tapped down to flat first, I'm not knocking jim.

Burt Cheevers: Contact the appropriate dealer (i.e. if it's a chevy contact a chevy dealer) and give them the VIN number for the car (this usually can be found on a plate at the front of the drivers side of the dashboard which can be read from the outside) and order touch up paint and a clear coat touch up for the vehicle. Follow the directions on the paint and clear coat--apply the touch-up paint first then the clear coat touch up--and then finish by applying a car wax (Turtle wax and Meguiars are good brands). Bianca Lannier: The cracked paint can't be successfully repaired; it needs to be feather sanded and resprayed. Just the thermal e! xpansion/contraction of sitting in sun for a few days will cause cracked paint to further de-laminate over any externally applied rust treatment.
