Making A stable boat?

Willa Holte: The wider the boat the more stable it will be. The more water the boat displaces the more it can hold. Some boats that are narrow in design for speed have a ballast weight in the bottom of the boat to keep it upright.

Mildred Pombo: Best bet is a platoon type of structure. 2 barrels and a platform. I don't think you'll do it for less than 50 dollars unless you get used stuff.

Lashawn Zabarkes: You can stand on it, but I'm not sure how many times it will throw you off during the day- your idea is workable and would work fine, except for the fact that the boat is too narrow to modify and use due to it's narrow 31 inch bottom- Years ago I turned one of my boats into a bass rig- it worked fine but the bottom was 42 inches wide , and I would not use one that was under 42 inches wide. If you have no choice in another boat, then my suggestion would be to mount a pedestal seat in the bottom of the boat behind the front deck and fish out of it- this wo! uld work-use a piece of 3/4 inch treated ply board for this- when not fishing you could lift the seat out to give you more room- Good luck!...Show more
