Merlin Fleischhacker: I believe in the prisoner of Azkaban, when Dumbledore and Lord Voldermort are fighting in the Ministry of Magic - Fawkes swallowed a killing curse intended for Dumbledore, causing him to burst into flame and die instantly.Did this only happen in the movie, the book or both??

Voldemort sends a killing curse in Dumbledores direction and Fawkes Apperates suddenly and swallows it, causing instant death and re-birth! Dumbledore later puts the baby Fawkes back on it's perch in his office, taking her out of his inner pocket!This happens only in the book. In the movie, Voldemort doesn't really send t! hat many killing curses towards Dumbledore, it's a more skilled duel, as opposed to a duel to kill!
