Enriqueta Steffen: Actually you can get either a BA or BS in psychology. Its not just a B.S. A B.S. usually requires one or two additional classes that are research based. I have not seen any preferrence given for one or the other to be honest. Most of the psychologist I know now have B.A. It really depends on you. Are you interested in research? If so you might consider getting a B.S. You might also need to graduate study to get those really good jobs. A masters is the best bet to the better job....Show more
Cuc Gire: A BA just means a Bachelor's in Arts... that is mostly everything that is on the side of the liberal arts college. Philosophy, English or Language Arts, psychology, fine art, history, any of the intellectual majors such as these. A BS is a Bachelor's in Science. Education is considered a science, actually, which beats me, but anyways... A BS consists of anything like computer programming, engineering, technology, chemistry, biology, administrative sci! ences, business, etc. You can get a Master's or Doctorate in any of these things. You would either be a Doctor of Arts or Doctor of Science. They are just categorized this way. Intellectual vs. scientific.I don't see how a BS would be any faster than getting a BA.
