What do i have to do to become a top contributor? I answer questions every nite. Am i supposed to get better??

Alden Soldano: I have reviewed your recent answers, and sure you have managed to provide quite a few, sadly not all in the same categories.Top contributors are knowledgeable to up to three specific categories and more often than not shall maintain a high presence within such categories, logging in daily, answering quite a few questions a week and gaining quite a few best answers. If you are looking to becoming a top contributor, settle down into a category permanently, I noticed you seem to like the general skin and beauty category, and simply answer as many question as possible each and every day. Tana Dumoulin: answer in only one category you're really really good at, so you get lots of best answers. you can only be top contributor in one category at a time, so if you're spreading out your best answers, that won't help. don't worry, you'll get there. pick a category yo! u like, and are knowledgeable in. good luck!

Lue Podewils: I don't think they ever said exactly how many best answers you need in a category to be a "top contributor." I suspect it varies from category to category depending on how popular the category is. Just pick a category that you're good in and answer A LOT of questions in that category and you, too, can be a "top contributor." Don’t believe people when they say “just answer 50 answers in 30 days” or stuff like that! . Yahoo keeps it deliberately vague so they never promised an ! exact figure to anyone. It may, as I said, vary from category to category. However, I have a rough idea of how long it takes to become a top contributor because a friend of mine made it after she answered all her questions in only one (1) category for a month in order to earn that badge. She doesn’t log on as often as I do so that only amounted to about 85 answers but she made it. She had a 30% “best answer rating.”It’s been said somewhere here on Yahoo that you need at least 10% of those answers to be “best answers.” It may take weeks of answering a lot in a category so be patient, Rome wasn't built in a day. While I made it to “Top Contributor” in two weeks of answering regularly in certain categories, I do log on every single day. It’s harder to make it to Top Contributor if you only log in now and then or, when you log in, you don’t answer a ton of questions.Just remember, concentrate your energies on ONE sub-category. Don’t answer all categories s! ay, in Health, but concentrate on Alternative Health or Women’s Health or Men’s Health or Diet and Fitness. PICK ONE SPECIFIC CATEGORY AND STICK WITH IT! Cedric Grimstead: Give really honest, helpful and useful advice and answersBe yourself and don’t be judgmental.Don’t give stupid answers like idk , That’s not going to get you a best answer and it’s not advice!You don’t have to write paragraphs you just have to get the point across.You would have to be on Yahoo a lot, (On average maybe 3-5 days a week)Dedicate yourself to one particular category you know a lot about and stay there, Don’t be lead astray!I think you have to get a 10% best answer status or 45-50 best answers in a month, I’m not sure about that.Yahoo are very vague about it and I think they change it regularly.The top contributor badge always comes on a Monday. You would need to be gaining about 200 poi! nts a week from the category you want to be a top contributor in. It’! s not that much to be honest.When a Question has expired over 4 or 5 days then vote for yourself which also gives you one point.It doesn’t matter what level you are on, You can become a top contributor at any level after level 1, I have not yet seen a Top contributor who is on level 1, It’s not really possible. You can become a Top Contributor in any category EXCEPT Polls and Surveys and Jokes and Riddles. I think Yahoo just see that as a matter of opinion. You can become a Top Contributor in up to 3 levels although I have often seen people being a Top contributor in 4 categories too, but it isn’t that common. The Top contributor badge is dynamic. Clemente Schoeck: the theory is u need at least 10% best answers in a sub catagory out of a lot of answers. stick to one sub catagory that u know alot about and give the ! asker good answers so u can be chosen for best answer more often. i started out in one sub catagory then a couple of months later i realised that there was an orange badge under my name. i got bored with the first catagory then started out in another. i jump between catagoris and try to log in and answer at least 20-50 questions a day in each....Show more
