Mental health disability?

Clinton Quant: I don't know about obtaining extended leave from a job for mental disabilties and still be paid during that leave. It will most likely depend on what kind of job you have and the laws in your state (assuming you live in the US).I do know that you may qualify for Social Security Disability since I am on SSD for major depression and anxiety. It probably depends on which state you live in how difficult it would be to qualify for SSD. I live in New York State and here it is very difficult and can take years to get SSD unless you have a lawyer. Otherwise, the govt. dismisses most disability cases routinely. Then you have to appeal, which could take years.The good news (at least in NYS) is that a lawyer cannot charge you a penny unless you win your case. The commission they get from you if you win your case is pretty small. Also, a lawyer can cut through all the red tape and get your case decided quickly. In my case, I won my case in about 9 months and got a big ! retroactive paycheck. Now, about 6 years later, I still get a monthly SSD paycheck, although it ain't that big.You will need as much medical documentation as possible to support your case. Mozell Sponsler: You may qualify for assistance but it will not come close to your regular pay.call dshs and apply for assistance for a mental health problem and also you will apply for benefits from unemployment if you lose your job, apply for your ssi also.I get 786.00 a month plus full medical and psychiatric as well as food stamps and rides from to and from Dr's.The dshs will pay for you to be examined and treated . you may qualify for low income housing. etc..
