What is the best site to post a genealogy question?

Betsey Copp: http://www.rootsweb.com is a free Q&A forum, owned by ancestry.com.A lot of ancestry subscribers use it to share information. You can post a query and search the message boards.

Jinny Dronen: Check out Ancestery.com

Logan Bero: I like Rootsweb

Len Bormes: Genforumhttp://genforum.genealogy.com/and Ancestryhttp://boards.ancestry.com/both have query boards devoted to regions, and to surnames. GenForum tends to have a few big ones and Ancestry lots of little ones; where Clark and Clarke might be served by the same board on GenForum, they would be two separate ones on Ancestry. (I'm using "Clark" as an example; they may be separated on GF as well.)You could try the country boards, the county boards if he came to the USA and died here, and the surname boards....Show more

Sharri Scalley: I have just started researching my genealogy and found that the best solution when searching for information about your ancestors is to post your question to ! many different sites. Many genealogy sites have user forums that discuss family names. Cindi's List can give you a list of sites to try. Good luck.
