answers3: Have you read Jinx by Meg Cabot or Practical Magic by Alice
Hoffman?

Also, try Justine Larbalestier -- Magic or Madness series.
answers4: If you like reading non-fiction, about what goes on nowadays
- I recommend these two -

1) "Under the Loving Care of the Fatherly Leader"
written by Bradley K. Martin

2) "Rogue Regime"
written by Jasper Becker

These two well-written books give an insight about the North Korean
Government.

Fiction?

Try all the books written by Clive Cussler.

The hero is Dirk Pitt, with his sidekick Al Giordino. These are well-written.
answers5: If you like vampire/supernatural books you really should
pick up the Anita Blake series by Laurel K Hamilton.

The main character hunts vampires, but is also a necromancer and there
is a lot of supernatural demons/wereanimals/vampire and all that. The
main character is great and the plot really moves along (until the 7th
or 8th book and then it kinda falls flat) but until that they are
great.

The first book in the series is called Guilty Pleasures.
answers6: Clive Cussler writes a series (Dirk Pitt) that may interest you.

Anne Rice - Mayfair Witches series

Search for gris gris or Marie Leveaux in the library, interesting stuff there.
answers7: OK, let's try this...if you like Vampire books, you might
like fantasy? If you like fantasy, you need to read the Bartimaeus
trilogy by Jonathon Stroud. Or, if you like Vampire books, you might
like to get scared. Then you need to read, "The Takers." And, I don't
care what anyone says, if you haven't read the Harry Potter series, do
that now. It's not just a children's book. BTW, what is that picture
in your ID?
answers8: Try Wicked by Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguie. It has Wiccan
stuff, and there's also a sequel called Wicked 2.

Also try anything by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes. She writes mainly about
vampires, and she has a fantasy series having to do with
shape-shifters (though in my opinion the best books out of that series
are the first two -Hawksong and Snakecharm. The other books have
nothing to do with the original characters).

You might also like A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray. There's
a sequel called Rebel Angels, as well.

Good luck on quest for new books! I hope I've helped.
answers9: The Lightening Thief by Rick Riordan, my boyfriend got me to
read this book. Not as good as Twilight but I'm really into the
romances (which aren't in this one.) It's really funny and about this
kid who needs to go on an adventure searching for Zeus' master
lightening bolt and stuff. It's based around Greek mythology but set
in the present day.

Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow by Orson Scott Card. Ender's Game was
my favorite book before I found Twilight. It's about this kid Ender
who is really strong and really smart. They've been waiting for
somebody like him to become the head honcho and lead in a war against
the buggers, an "alien" species from outer space that earth has been
at war with. Again, I suck at summarizing but my brother got me to
read this book and I loved it. I mean the kid got sent to training
school when he was 6 YEARS OLD!!!!! Ender's Shadow is a parallex book
to Ender's Game, seen from Bean's eyes. Both books are hilarious with
a little rude language, but that's forgivable. If you want a little
insight on the book, I found this on youtube a while ago, <a

A few others are Firegirl by Tony Abbott
All-American Girl (and Ready Or Not, the sequel) by Meg Cabot about a
girl who's an outcast in her school then saves the president's life.
She's in love with her sister's boyfriend and has a genius for a
little sister. It's amazingly good, really.
Uglies by Scott Westerfield
Vampire Kisses by Ellen Schreiber
Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
(The last two since you like Vampires and all)
ttyl by Lauren Myracle
Down A Dark Hall by Lois Duncan (read this over the summer, really good)
answers10: Why don't you try European literature?? Someone really
great like Gustave Flaubert or Emile Zola... both of which are 19th
century french writers.
